Syracuse Lake is located just north of Lake Wawasee and northwest of Winona Lake. It is often grouped with Lake Wawasee homes for sale because the lakes are connected through a main channel. There are more than 1,000 lakeside homes found along the shoreline of both bodies of water, and residents can boat through the channel to enjoy activities occurring on both sides. Historically, Syracuse Lake real estate has been some of the most valuable and sought after property in the midwest.
Much of the Syracuse Lake real estate available today is located on East Lakeshore Drive. This road runs along the northern and eastern shores of the lake, and homes on the northern side are close to Maxwelton Golf Club as well as a variety of upscale restaurants and shopping centers.
You can also find Syracuse Lake real estate along the western shoreline. These properties are closer to the heart of Syracuse, so they may allow you a shorter commute when working, shopping and dining in the city. There are also some lakeside parks available to residents on this side of the lake, including Henry Ward Park on Medusa Street and Lakeview Park at the intersection of East Northshore Drive and North Long Drive.
Lakeview Park offers a public swimming beach and a playground near the water, but many residents invest in Syracuse Lake real estate because they want their own beaches. You can often find Syracuse Lake homes for sale that offer sandy beaches as well as large grassy backyards and spacious wood shops or garages.
Most homes on Syracuse Lake have three or more bedrooms, and many properties sell for less than homes situated on nearby Wawasee Lake. Even with lower prices, you can find waterfront homes with spacious bedrooms and decks or window porches overlooking the water.
If you enjoy spending time outdoors or want to raise a healthy, active family, there's no better place to call home than Syracuse Lake. There are several lakeside restaurants that allow residents to arrive by boat, and you can attend church services on the water every Sunday in the summer months. The warmer months are also filled with a variety of water activities, including water skiing, swimming and fishing.
Many visitors may leave the lake when the weather turns cold, but year-round residents know that this is the perfect time for ice fishing and boating. You can also enjoy snowmobiling and skiing at the lake and in surrounding communities, making this the perfect lake for outdoor enthusiasts as well as active professionals and families.
